Pet Loss Links

Losing a pet can be deeply painful. Pets are part of our families, our routines, and our lives, and grief after their loss can be every bit as real as grief following the loss of another loved one.

There is no correct way or timetable for grieving. Some people want to talk about their pet immediately, while others need quiet time. Children and other pets in the household may grieve as well.

If you are struggling with a pet’s declining quality of life, facing an end-of-life decision, or coping with a recent loss, please know that support is available.
